Narok County Inaugural Livestock Show & Auction, Narok County Stadium. 3rd- 4th Dec 2018

The County Government of Narok is planning to hold a two (2) days Livestock Show & Auction at Narok County Stadium.

The Theme of the Livestock Show is: Positioning Narok as the Livestock County of Choice”

The show will seek to unlock opportunities in the Agricultural Sector and more specifically, the Livestock sub sector.The purpose of the show is to present Narokas a viable investment destination for livestock and stimulate the interest of potential investors (including the people of Narok) with the aim of initiating demand-oriented projects and realizing actual investments in the County continuously.

The significance of the livestock show is to exhibit various quality breed traits of cattle, goats and sheep, with regard to their specifications and their breed standards,demonstrate the existing situation of livestock husbandry (breeds and production systems).

This is aimed at affording the local farmers an opportunity to understand the dynamics of livestock farming, as well as purchase the breeds that will be on auction on the second day of the showas majority of the residents of Narok County are pastoralist communities that depend on livestock farming for their livelihood.

Appreciating that livestock farming contributes close to 50% of the county economy, the county government is committed to support and build the capacity of farmers so as to improve the sector’s capacity, and immensely contribute to the nation’s food sufficiency, driven by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Food Security agenda.

In this regard, th eGovernor and County Government of Narok has the Honor toinvite youand your organization to attend this inaugural Livestock Show and Auction at Narok Stadium on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th December, 2018.
