The Teaching Farm opened its doors on April 27th, 2013. For many years it was a center of activity for our many visitors wanting to know how to best use their small pieces of land for food security and income generation.
We promoted sustainable agriculture on just ¼ acre for both horticulture and small animal husbandry. Skills Training was the focus of our work on and off the farm through our Outreach Program. We had envisioned replicating the model farm throughout the 47 Counties but resources did not allow it. To further accomplish our goal of reaching out to Kenyan farmers across the country we began transferring our knowledge base to an online platform and FarmLINK Kenya was realized.
