Finance gap facing smallholder farmers

Our Objective In Farm Finance Feature

Even though investment in agribusiness has become a lucrative and inspiring trend among the youth one of the major challenges facing young agripreneurs is available funds to finance their ventures. Some Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) have successfully paved the way to offering financial services to low-income populations without traditional collateral but still many banks and microfinance institutions (MFIs) are still reluctant to move into rural areas and offer agricultural finance, due to the perceived high risks and costs.

The objective of FarmLINK Kenya is to develop this feature by providing a platform where banks, Ngos and  MFIs share/collaborate farmer information regarding their: Agri-Loan packages, Agri-insurance, Budgeting, Record Keeping and any other relevant financial information related to agribusiness.

Are you an NGO or MFIs with an agri-finance programme i.e  financing, training e.t.c ? We would like to  share this information with farmers and collaborate on the ground. Shoot us an email on info@farmlinkkenya.com and we shall respond to you ASAP!

admin: FarmLINK Kenya is a one stop shop for farming information. Our mission is to provide smallholder farmers in Kenya with the most current farming information to guide them in decision making. Our goal is to bridge the "Information gap" by creating linkages among farmers, inputs providers, researchers and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
