The HIV Family Initiative was a Project championed by M.E.D.F. in partnership with The Kijabe Health Unit in Githunguri District. Our Mission was to improve the quality of life of HIV/AIDS patients by providing them with accessible Medical Care and promoting Food Security and Quality nutrition through kitchen gardens.Â
This Project target 1600 families affected by HIV/AIDs in Githunguri Sub County. Through the support of the Kijabe Health Unit we identified 120 families with an immediate need for food security and medical attention. We placed the families in cluster groups to facilitate our work and to offer group support. We provided support where it was needed and many families were assisted. Though the Project has ended we continue to maintain contact with many of the beneficiaries should they need our support.
